The seasons of a creative business aren’t measured only in launches and sales—they’re measured in the people, projects, and risks that quietly reshape what’s possible.
For me, 2025 has been a year of meaningful growth and transition across the Brooklyn Writers Press, AVANTHAM, and Book Biz Hub. Behind the scenes, a few milestones stand out:
Brynn Sherry joined me as Production Assistant and Editor, strengthening how we support authors through every stage of the publishing process.
We launched a beta marketing coaching program for authors that performed well enough to continue—and expand—in 2026.
AVANTHAM, our teen imprint under the Book Biz Hub umbrella, officially launched and began building its own list.
Longtime Brooklyn Writers Press poet Stephan Silich received the American Legacy Award, a recognition that means a great deal to both of us.
Amid all of this, I also returned to my own writing desk. In the year ahead, alongside our authors’ books, I’ll be releasing my own projects, launching the Book Biz Insider Podcast, and expanding the Authors Zen Guides and workshops to better support writers at every stage—from first draft to long-term backlist strategy.
I’m grateful to still be doing work I love, with authors I respect, in an industry that continues to evolve. If you’re building something for 2026—whether it’s a book, a press, a program, or a new chapter in your creative career—I’d love to hear about it.
And if you’d like to follow along as these next pieces roll out, you’re very welcome to stay connected here.
