Writers today have more choices than ever before.

Gone are the days when you had to wait and get picked by a publisher in order for your dreams of becoming a published author to come true. And while today, writers can decide for themselves how soon their books can reach the marketplace, there are as many challenges, as there are opportunities in the current ever-changing publishing landscape.

I founded the Brooklyn Writers Co. in the hopes to provide authors with the information and resources they need to make smart investments on their path to publication.

Since 2013, I've connected with hundreds of emerging writers and I've compiled as much information and resources possible. And even through that exercise, I myself have struggled to produce books that meet my own high standards of quality. The aim then is to educate new writers, self-publishers or anyone new to today's publishing environment on how best to proceed.

The Brooklyn Writers Project, a weekly writers meetup began in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY. For 3 years, I hosted the weekly meetings and I had the honor of engaging, on a consistent basis, with some truly exceptional and talented writers.

The Brooklyn Writers Press officially launched, but the first book to hit the marketplace took more than a year. This was in part due to the fact that I hadn't intended to publish other writers, only my own work. What makes the press different than other hybrid presses is namely author royalties. Brooklyn Writers Press authors retain their intellectual property rights, 100% of the net sales proceeds for print sales and e-book sales on retailers excluding Amazon. They also receive 80% of the sales proceeds from e-books sold on Amazon.
